Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT) operates 11 Clubhouses that are safe, fun places for youth to go during out-of-school hours to learn and grow. Each time a Club opens its doors, youth have access to caring adult mentors, a healthy meal or snack, and enriching programming that helps them develop into the best version of themselves. In addition to this, Clubs collaborate with community partners throughout the year to make great days even better.
Recently, our Fairview Clubhouse teamed up with Allied Global Marketing (AGM), a leading full-service entertainment, culture, and lifestyle-marketing agency, to sprinkle some wonder into our members’ lives and share the stories of Aladdin & Toy Story 4. When Jade Grogan, Junior Account Executive, was asked why they selected to partner with BGCMT, she reflected, “We have worked with other branches of Boys & Girls Clubs in the past… We love Boys & Girls Clubs’ role and initiative to better the community by working with children and teens with its amazing program.”
To engage our youth, AGM planned two hands-on activities in addition to screening the movies. On their first visit, they helped our youth design magic carpets of their very own to take home. They also handed out branded luggage tags to encourage youth to take adventures, no matter how close or far their destinations might be! During their second visit, they talked about friendship and had all of the kids create their own ‘Forky.’
“Working with BGCMT on the Aladdin & Toy Story 4 events was an absolute joy, especially to see how happy the children were at the events creating their crafts and receiving the film promotional items,” Grogan said, “I look forward to working with BGCMT on future film campaigns.” Thank you, AGM, for working with our youth! As we enter into the holidays, we are keeping the magic going with our Holiday Wish List Program. Extra resources during the holiday season may be scarce for some of the families we serve. To help address this, BGCMT asks every Club member to write down three wishes – typically gift items that include board games, electronic toys, clothing, and sports equipment. Local businesses, volunteers, and community members donate the gifts and then they are given to members during a holiday celebration hosted by the Club so they can be taken home and opened with their families. This collective effort of the community, Clubs, and families ensures that our youth feel cared for and have the opportunity to share a happy holiday with their loved ones.
