BGCMT Staff Recognized for Excellence

Orman Giving SpeechOn October 9th, two of our staff members were recognized by our community for excellence and service.

Louie Orman, who has served with Boys & Girls Clubs since 2002, was recognized at the Salute to Excellence as the SunTrust Chief Financial Officer of the Year. This award recognizes the staff person who has made a financial difference to his or her agency in either creatively working through a time of financial difficulty or in taking advantage of a financial opportunity. His profile described his passion and commitment: “Without Louie’s financial acumen, Boys & Girls Clubs would not be a place of hope and opportunity to thousands of youth. Louie understands the importance of maximizing every dollar donated so that the organization’s mission can be realized and prosper.”

Picture of Carothers with AwardDenise Carothers, who has served Boys & Girls Clubs since 1996, was recognized as the Non-Profit Leader of the Year at the Williamson Business Leadership Awards. These awards recognize business leaders whose companies are located in Williamson County and who have demonstrated professional excellence and significant impact to the economic growth, prosperity, and philanthropy in the community. Denise currently serves as Director of Resource Development, where she oversees fundraising and community relations in Williamson County, including beloved events Wine Down Main Street and Steak & Burger Dinner.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee was also a Salute to Excellence finalist for The Memorial Foundation Leadership Award which recognizes nonprofits that have risen above substantial fiscal problems through effective turnaround management. A $2,500 award was presented to BGCMT for being selected as a finalist.
