BGCMT Wins Top Award at Salute to Excellence & $26,000 to Serve Youth

11 Oct

“Early in 2015 a building sat under-utilized, almost empty, when Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT), Metro Nashville Parks & Recreation (MNPR), and Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) had an idea. The opportunity was evident to all, and the goal was clear: to transform this rarely used community center, located in an area of high crime, into a beacon of hope for youth.”

This was the start of The Frist Foundation Award of Achievement – Team Building application that was presented the top award at Salute to Excellence last night. This award, presented to the organization that most powerfully demonstrates how they’ve mobilized, trained, coordinated and made the most effective use of community partners, was presented to our Cleveland Park Club. The honor was accompanied by a $25,000 gift to continue the great work of BGCMT. To read more about the Cleveland Park Club, go here.

Club Blue, the young professionals’ organization that supports BGCMT, was also recognized as a finalist for the Diversified Trust New Generations Award for its effective approach of engaging new donors. This honor was accompanied by a $1,000 gift. To learn more about Club Blue, go here.

BGCMT is proud to be recognized by and a part of the Nashville nonprofit community and would like to extend congratulations to all organizations that were in attendance last night. We ‘salute’ you!
