Inaugural Dash to a Great Future Raises $11,000 for BGCMT Youth

02 Oct

This September, Club Blue, the young professionals’ organization that supports Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, hosted its inaugural fundraiser Dash to a Great Future. Young professionals from across the city competed in a month-long, peer-to-peer fundraising campaign to raise essential funds to help youth learn about the world around them, live a healthy lifestyle, and become leaders among their peers and in the community.

Their goal was simple: raise $1,000 so they could ‘graduate’ from a Club. For every $200 raised, they were promoted to a new affinity group, much like our Club members advance age groups throughout their Boys & Girls Clubs tenure.

The fundraiser kicked-off with a ‘Back to School Bash’ where our fundraisers met some of the youth they were raising money to support and had an opportunity to play games with them. Along the way, our fundraisers competed for ‘scholarships,’ dollars that went toward their fundraising totals. Finally, the event concluded with a ‘Graduation Party,’ sponsored by Deloitte, where we thanked all of our Dashers and recognized our graduates, as well as awarded prizes.

A special congratulation goes out to our top three graduates:

  • First Place: Emily Rester ($2,100)
  • Second Place: Jamie Cooper ($1,900)
  • Third Place: Chris Brady ($1,380)

Justin Jackson and Henry Terrell also graduated.

Thank you to all of our fundraisers and donors who participated this year! We received donations from almost 200 individuals from 18 different states and Washington, D.C. The $11,000 you raised will truly make a difference in the lives of youth in Middle Tennessee!
