I’m Eric Higgs, and I am the new CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee.
After over twenty-five years in executive roles at several Fortune 500 companies and a non-governmental organization, I’ve joined Boys & Girls Clubs because I believe our children and teens deserve safe spaces and positive mentors to inspire big dreams and build Great Futures.
Growing up on Chicago’s southside, and being the first to attend college in my family; I am living proof of what supportive family, teachers, mentors, and early exposure with programs like Boys & Girls Clubs can do to guide the trajectory of your life.
Over 4,700 youth come through our doors every year to develop academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character and citizenship. Our values are rooted in success and equity for our members, our families, and our communities. This is a movement that is over a 100 years strong.
Recent events have shown us that we still have work to do as a community and as a country. If you have been shocked and outraged by acts of violence that are extreme manifestations of regular inequities and injustices, I invite you to join the movement. If you believe in justice, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness for all, I invite you to join the movement. And if you believe that it truly takes a village to raise a child, I invite you to join the movement. We need your ideas, your time, and your donations to help continue our efforts in the Clubs and to advocate for justice and equality for the thousands of youth who are counting on us.
On behalf of our Club Kids, our families, and our staff, thank you for your support as we continue to open new doors for Great Futures.
